We are going to be bringing our family for the 1st visit in May. Our 3 year old son is blind. What tips do you have to make the trip more fun for him (his 5 year old brother is fully sighted)?

    Hi Kim,

Hooray for first trips! The wonderful thing about Disney is that the experience is all around you and in many forms.

If your pirate loves a particular character, make sure to have his picture taken with them. Pixar has a terrific meet and greet in Disney's Hollywood Studios. There are also character breakfasts throughout the Disney Resorts which your child can interact with the characters as well.

If your pirate loves animals, then head to Animal Kingdom and Rafiki's Planet Watch for some hands on animal experiences.

I would also highly recommend purchasing Passporter's Guide to Special Needs. This book is a companion to the very popular and well loved Passporter guide. It is available on-line and in most book stores.  Bret has recorded a video about the guides so you can get some more information about them.

Also, call Disney and talk to a Castmember about your son. I have included the link here.

I hope you and your pirates have a magical first trip.
