We are bringing our 8yo to Disneyland for the 1st time. How many days are needed to see the park?

Hi there, Kellee! Thanks for trusting the Disney Parks Moms Panel to help you plan your adventure to the Happiest Place on Earth. I can’t wait for you and your family to experience the magic of Walt Disney’s original theme park for the first time! Be sure to stop by Guest Relations to pick up complimentary 1st Visit buttons for everyone.

I suggest that you dedicate at least three full days to enjoy the Disneyland Resort. Three days really provides a good amount of time to ride all the attractions on your must-do list while also having time to take in some shows and nighttime entertainment options. I would also recommend that you purchase Park Hopper tickets so you can visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park every day of your stay. The parks are just steps away from each other so park hopping only takes a minute or two and enables you to keep your plans really flexible.

My next suggestion is that you consider staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel. All three hotels are within walking distance from the parks and when you stay on-site, you are immersed in the magic 24 hours a day. Additionally, staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel comes with my favorite perk – Extra Magic Hour every day of your stay! Extra Magic Hour allows you to enter Disneyland Park one hour early on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Disney California Adventure Park one hour early on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

I would love to provide even more tips and advice, so please return with any other questions you may have!
