We are bringing our daughter (she will be 4 by the time we are there). Are the Magic Bands small enough for the little ones and easy for them to use in the Parks?

Greetings, Jessica! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

This past fall, we visited the Walt Disney World Resort with our 4-year-old daughter and I had the same concern about her MagicBand. I was pleasantly surprised, though, to discover that we had absolutely zero issues with her wearing and using it at the parks. The first thing you will want to do is peel off the outer gray part of the MagicBand. When you do this, you are left with a MagicBand that is the perfect size for smaller wrists. It may take a bit of effort, but the MagicBands are designed to do this for just this reason. You can also buy special clips or bitbelts from third-party vendors that will secure the MagicBand even further.

Then next thing will be explaining to your daughter that the MagicBand is very special and shouldn't be played with or taken off without giving it to mommy or daddy. Once we told our daughter that her MagicBand was her ticket into the theme parks and her key into the hotel room, she was really excited to be in charge of such an important piece of hardware. She also thought it was super fun and easy to scan her MagicBand to enter the parks (your daughter will also need to place her finger on the tapstile) and when it was time to use FastPass+ to ride an attraction. At this age, kids revel in doing things independently, so being able to scan their own MagicBands brings a nice tough of magic.

Finally, if you would prefer, you can purchase lanyards or keychains called MagicKeepers to use instead of a band if you think that will work best for your child. Or you could wear your child's MagicBand yourself if you wish.

I hope this helps! Have a fabulous visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth!
