I am bringing my daughter and 5 of her friends down in June to celebrate their graduation. I was trying to keep costs down for them. Do you have any suggestions as far as resorts. I would love to stay at old key west but the cost has gone up quite a bit !

    Michele:

With a minimum of 7 in your party, your choice of accommodations, shrinks a bit....

Of all the vacation villas, Old Key West is your most economic choice, and the two-bedroom villas has the most space of any of the villas on property!  What makes these locations have value are their full-size kitchens, which could help you save on meals, even help you create a special dinner or two for your trip.  Make sure you account for that possibility in your trip plans!

    Two other options to consider:

    1. Two connecting rooms at a Value or Moderate Resort.  Still less than a two-bedroom villa, especially if you go with the Value. PLUS: you'll have two bathrooms, which you'll need with that many girls!  I'd go with Pop Century with its lake for the Value, Coronado Springs with its upscale resort feel and Mayan pool or Port Orleans: French Quarter for the festive, Mardi Gras feel and boat to Downtown Disney for shopping.
    2. Two connecting rooms at the Swan or Dolphin (they also have affordable suites).  If you don't need the dining plan or Magical Express, this is my vote.  The pool's waterfalls make it a sophisticated perch for any teenager.  Its proximity not only to the Boardwalk but also Epcot and Disney Studios give your group many options for fun.  Best of all, they offer room specials and are one of the best values on property.
Keep in mind that you'll want to make sure that when you make your reservations to specify that you need connecting rooms, especially if you'll be the only adult.  Disney does their best to honor room requests, but can't guarantee them.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
