Want to bring 10yr old niece for her first visit to DW. Will have 3 kids (5,12,10) & 2 adults. Stay at PO-River in trundlebed room or 2 joining rooms at AOA? These options seem cheaper than AOA or AS-Music suites. Don't care if crowded. Better pool?

    Hello, Gina!

Wow! Bringing your 10-year-old niece for her first trip to Walt Disney World will be a blast for everyone! How fun!

When we travel with a party of more than four, we look for accommodations which offer a second bathroom. While five to a room with one bath is do-able, that second bathroom option really helps prevent some chaos in the long run.

I took a look at a week in June in a Family Suite at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, which offers Guests that second bathroom, room to sleep 6 as well as a mini-kitchen (a great way to save $ by enjoying breakfast in-room!) and found a cost of $2,405 at the time of this writing. The same week in a Family Suite at Disney's All-Star Music Resort is $2,124. If you were to book two standard rooms at AOA, each room that week would cost $1,027 ($2,054 total), but you'd lose the convenience of the mini-kitchen. The Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside room with a trundle bed for the little one is surely the least expensive of these options, coming in that week at $1,323.

On that note, the Moderate Resorts generally have additional features that Value Resorts do not have, including slides at the pools and additional dining options. You can find lots of information, reviews and pics of any WDW resort at one of my favorite unofficial sites, allears.net. Hover over Walt Disney World and click on Accommodations, then scroll down to the resort in which you're interested. You'll be able to see the difference between Value and Moderate Resorts by reading through these items and can make the best decision at that point.

Send more questions as you investigate! I'd love to help you get the most out of your travel dollars while finding the perfect resort for your family! :-)
