Hi Bret. Luv yr advice/strategies. We R stay'n @POFQ w my sister+fam. dSis attds conference @ CS while her fam plays w us. What best way 4 dSis 2 travel btw resorts 2 max time. Bus to Park tsfer 2 CS but which park is closest, or is DTD best? how much time

    David,

Thanks for the kind words! Much appreciated.

As you appear to already know, Disney transportation is more convenient between a resort and the parks than between two resorts.  To go between resorts you typically have to transfer at a park.  Also to go from Downtown Disney to a park, you have to transfer at a resort.

To answer this kind of question, I typically use a mix of the "Transportation Wizard" at www.ourlaughingplace.com, the Unofficial Guide to WDW (they have a great commuting times table in the "arriving" chapter), and my own experience.  Based on these sources, my conclusion is that I would take the first bus from Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ) that shows up that is going to either Epcot (EP), Hollywood Studios (HS), or the Animal Kingdom (AK), and then from the resulting park catch a bus to Coronado Springs (CS).  The total bus travel times (per the Unofficial Guide) of these three options is very close (HS=42 min., EP=44 min., AK=47 min.). This does not include the time waiting for buses.

So, I think your best strategy is to shorten your first wait time by taking the first bus that arrives (to EP, HS or AK), and the second leg timing is nearly identical on average for all three parks.

I wouldn't go to Downtown Disney, as I find that the bus service isn't as frequent there, and the estimated total travel time is 57 minutes.

Please be aware that driving or a taxi will be MUCH faster -- likely 12-15 minutes total.  So, if you are in a hurry, I'd definitely consider taking a taxi (approx. $15 - but ask about the approx. cost before you get in the taxi, just to be sure).

    Hope that helps.
