I breastfeed my 8 month old and was wondering if I could request a small freezer in our room so I can store frozen milk I may need to bring with is. I know our room will have a frig but I need a freezer only type set up as well.

    Hi, Erica!

Olaf famously said 'Love is putting someone else's needs before yours.' and 'Some people are worth melting for.' As a fellow mom, we no doubt love our babies and will do anything for them. However, I am not about to let your back-up milk supply do whatever snow does in summer because that would be bad for everyone.

Miniature freezers are unfortunately not available at Disney's Resort Hotels. I searched for small freezers from third-party baby gear rental companies in the area and came up empty. (I'm not sure why they don't exist, but I think I found our Shark Tank idea, Erica!) I do have two ideas for you:

If you're able to switch up your Disney Resort Hotel reservation, you'll find full-size kitchens with full-size refrigerators and freezers in The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort as well as in *Disney's Deluxe Villas. (*Freezers are found in the 1, 2 or 3-Bedroom Villas.)

Or, you can make your own freezer, without having to create your own ice palace. (I accidentally froze multiple gallons of milk solid this way once. I ended up having to let it all go.) You'll need five items: the container you bring your supply in (a small-to-medium hard-sided ice chest is best), ice from your resort hotel's ice machine, gallon-sized zip-top plastic baggies, water, and rock salt. (Also known as 'Ice Cream Salt'.) Rock salt lowers the freezing point of ice, making it colder than cold. Put your bagged milk in the gallon-sized baggies, stand the gallon baggies up in the ice chest, add ice up to the top three inches of the baggies, sprinkle 1/2 to 1 whole cup of salt on the ice, and pour two cups of water on top of the ice and salt. Keep it covered and you'll keep it icy cold!

We'll See You Real Soon, Erica!
