Hi there, my boyfriend, his son and I are going on the disney magic on dec 14th. I am wondering what sort of things we can do in the ports. We have never been on a cruise before and were also wondering how common sea sickness might be?

    Hi Natasha!
I'm happy to hear you've chosen Disney Cruise Line for your very first cruise. Disney caters to first-time cruisers, taking care of most of your needs before you even know you have them! You'll feel like VIPs from start to finish.

Disney Cruise Line offers lots of awesome Port Adventures at each of the ports you'll visit. You can find detailed descriptions of Port Adventures here, and can search by age and type of activity you're looking for (Active, Family, Splashtacular, Sightseeing, etc.) My family really enjoyed the Fury Catamaran Sail, Snorkel and Beach Party in Cozumel on our last cruise. Once you've decided on the adventure that's right for you, simply visit the Planning Center on the Disney Cruise Line website to make your reservations.

Sea sickness can be a little tricky. Some guests, though usually not prone to motion sickness, can feel a little "green around the gills" on a cruise ship. The good news is, Disney ships are built to keep the rocking and rolling to a minimum. (Except for in the dance clubs - the rocking and rolling is in full force!) You'll tend to feel less movement in staterooms on lower decks, and toward the middle of the ship. A view of the horizon can help a lot when adjusting to the motion. I take a small dose of non-drowsy Dramamine each day when I cruise. I don't get extremely sick, but have felt a bit queasy from time to time. (And I can flip upside down and sideways on the craziest of roller coasters with no problem!) If you're in need of motion sickness medication once onboard, the medical center supplies it free of charge in a container outside the door.

I hope this helps answer your questions. Happy planning! - Diane W.
