My boyfriend and I are planning on doing a Disney cruise and going to Walt Disney world before it. Do we get transportation from the resort to the ship? How do we go about this? Also do you have any planning tips to make this extra special?

    Ahoy there, Rebecca!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel with your question. You've got an awesome plan in the works, bringing together a magical Land and Sea vacation combination. I think that's a great way to recharge your batteries and come back home, well rested and ready to tackle life's daily grind.

I think spending time at the Parks first is ideal too. Going through the parks and enjoying all the rides and attractions is a spectacular way of enjoying your time together and making magical memories. After burning all that energy, you can get on the cruise and get relaxed and pampered! The most convenient way of getting from your Disney Resort to Port Canaveral is by adding the Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation to your reservations. There is an extra charge of $35 per person each way. You can easily add this additional service by calling the DCL Travel Desk. The night before your embarkation day, you will get a reminder notice delivered to your hotel room to reconfirm your pickup time the following morning. You'll also have special bag tags that you need to attach to your luggage. Your motor coach driver will also be your baggage handler. Your tagged luggage will be loaded onto the same motor coach, and it will get delivered directly to your stateroom on the ship. So, make sure you've got a day bag with you, for your same-day essentials. You can also purchase ground transfers from the Port to the Airport.

A romantic dinner at Palo or Remy would be a great addition to your cruise plans. It is a gastronomic dining experience and the service is impeccable. If you fancy the pampering at the spa, they offer wonderful couples packages that are unforgettable.

Depending on what your interests are, there are other activities that you can check out onboard. Happy planning!
