Hello! I’ve just bought our military salute tickets for WDW from the MWR. But it turns out they are not actually tickets, but ‘certificates’ that I have to exchange for the actual tickets once we arrive on site. Does that mean no FastPass for us? Thanks!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Teodora!

It’s always a pleasure to help a fellow military family with their Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning! On behalf of my fellow Panelists and my own military family, a heartfelt thank you to you for your family’s service to our country. I’m so excited to see you’ll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth next month, and I’m happy to help you get everything set up so you can get the magic started as soon as you arrive!

My family often purchases Military Promotional Theme Park Tickets from our local base, and you’re right that the “tickets” actually do come in the form of “exchange certificates.” When you arrive at Walt Disney World next month, you’ll need to take those tickets to a Guest Relations window, along with your valid and active U.S. military ID, in order to activate them so you can use them to enter a theme park.

But never fear! You will be able to link your exchange certificates to your My Disney Experience account so you’re able to make FastPass+ selections. You should see a number on each exchange certificate – that is the ticket number you will use. Log in to My Disney Experience, select Tickets and Passes, and then Link Tickets. You’ll then be able to enter each ticket number, and then link it to each member of your party’s My Disney Experience Profile. Once the tickets are linked, you’ll be ready to make those FastPass+ selections! If you run into any trouble, your best bet is to call (407) 939-4357, and a My Disney Experience Support Team Cast Member can help. I actually linked military tickets earlier today and needed the help of these magical Cast Members, and they were so helpful!

Teodora, have so much fun making your plans, and please come back and see us if we can help as you count down the days and dream about your upcoming vacation. Be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog for the latest updates about new experiences, tasty treats, and other Disney news. Have the BEST time!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
