I bought Disney water bottles to bring with us but I've heard that water fountains are hard to come by in the parks. Will the vendors give us ice so that we can fill up from a bathroom sink or will we have to buy it? Love the panel!

    Hi Melinda,

Thanks for your question! You've hit on one of my favorite money-saving tips for visiting the Walt Disney World resorts.

Yes, you can ask for a free cup of ice water at almost all of the counter service restaurants throughout the parks. Usually, the ice and water will be in a large cup, enough to fill a standard water bottle. Besides saving money, I actually prefer the taste of tap water over the commercial bottled water.

There are water fountains throughout the parks, but they are more prevalent in some areas than others. For example, my husband and I had trouble locating a fountain in the World Showcase area of Epcot the other day, but found them easily in the Future World section. However, the water stream often isn't tall enough to fill a water bottle easily.

So your plan to get ice from a quick-service location is a good one. You also can fill your bottles with ice from the resort ice machines each morning or use the ice and water dispenser in the resort food court areas.

Staying hydrated is key to an enjoyable theme park visit, especially as the weather gets hot. So drink up and enjoy!

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.
