Hello, I will be booking our first trip ever to Disney World. I have a 14yr old and a 15yr old. What restaurants do you recommend we make reservations at? We will be staying at All-Star Movies Resort. Thank you

    Hi Laura,

I often travel to Walt Disney World with my three teenage daughters. I have to say that dining in the Disney restaurants is one of the favorite parts of their trip.

With teens, you can dine absolutely anywhere on property, so try to choose something that works with their food preferences. If they like Mexican, go for La Hacienda de San Angel at Epcot's Mexico pavilion. If they like BBQ, go for the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge (easily accessible by boat from the Magic Kingdom). If they want to feel extra special, take them to a signature restaurant in one of the deluxe resorts. My teens particularly enjoy Jiko in the Animal Kingdom Lodge and California Grill at the Contemporary. You should also look at uniquely themed Disney dining experiences such as the Sci-Fi Dine-In at Disney's Hollywood Studios where the tables look like old fashioned cars, or the 50s Prime Time Diner also at DHS, where it's like you're eating in a 1950s kitchen. And don't rule out the character meals. You are never too old to dine with Mickey!

If you're looking for more tips, I suggest you head on over to the independent website DisneyFoodBlog.com and search there for two articles "Fun Without Characters" and "Disney Food for Families: 10 Tips for Dining With Teens at Walt Disney World." These will give you lots of suggestions about how to create a wonderful dining experience for your family.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
