When booking fast pass I heard rides have tiers? How do I find out more about that

Hello, Irene! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Three of the four Theme Parks at Walt Disney World Resort utilize a “tiered” system for the attractions. This means Guests can choose one FastPass+ experience from the first “tier” and two others from the second “tier.”

While this system is always subject to change, currently you’ll find Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey in the first tier at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Alien Swirling Saucers, Slinky Dog Dash, Toy Story Mania!, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios' first tier, and Epcot Forever (beginning Oct. 1, 2019), Frozen Ever After, Soarin’ Around the World and Test Track as your first tier options at Epcot. Magic Kingdom Park does not currently use this system, so your three complimentary FastPass+ selections can be made from any of the available attractions at that Theme Park.

Each of the other FastPass+ enabled attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot currently fall into the second tier, and that’s where you’ll choose your other two options.

Did you know that as a Guest at an official Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can book those FastPass+ experiences up to 60 days in advance of your visit? And if you’re not staying onsite, you can make your selections up to 30 days in advance. Check out the attraction descriptions on the Walt Disney World Resort website or your My Disney Experience mobile app to begin deciding which attractions will be best for your family, Irene. In the meantime, please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help!

We hope to see you real soon,
    Amy
