After booking 7day resort, 5 day park with the disney dining plan- What would you budget for extras; like Food, Activities? Family of 4; 2 adults 2 kids 4yo & 5yo/

    Hi Jesica,

Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! If you are like me you are the happiest when you have a budget, even when on vacation to the most Magical place on earth. Since you will have the Disney Dining Plan the majority of your food expenses will be covered. Whenever my family has the Disney Dining Plan for our vacations we budget additional cash for the following expenses:
    • Tips - You will have 1 table service meal, 1 quick service meal, and 1 snack per person per day already included with the Disney Dining Plan however tips are not included. Typically I view the menus for the restaurants in which we have selected to dine and estimate a 20% tip for each table service restaurant. In addition to table service meal tips I like to tip the driver of our Magical Express bus who transports us to and from Orlando International Airport. I also routinely tip Mousekeeping a few dollars each day for the lovely (and sometimes Magical) service they provide for our room.
    • Additional food expenses - This category usually isn't a lot of money since the majority of your food costs will be taken care of with the Disney Dining Plan. However there are certain items and snacks which are not included on Disney Dining Plan for which I allot money. Generally higher priced snacks (like turkey legs), appetizers and most specialty drinks like alcohol are not usually considered part of the Dining Plan so budget additional money if that is important to you.
    • Souvenirs and extra activities - Remember to budget for your Mickey Ears! Likewise if you have planned an activity, such as a Princess Makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you should account for that as well.

I hope this budget outline helps you to plan for your vacation. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Blessings,
    Brenda ºOº
