Just booked for a week in Sept2013. Unsure if my hubby will come or not. Kids will be 4 and 1. We're coming from Indiana. Any tips for making things easier if I travel with the kids alone?

    Hi Alyssa!

My children are also 4 and 1.  A single parent trip is difficult, I'm not going to lie, especially at those ages.  :D  I have ventured to the parks with both kids a lot this year.  I highly suggest bringing or renting a double stroller.  The strollers you can rent at the parks are not that comfortable for the smallest of children and definitely not good for napping.

Have a plan of attractions that you want to go on and even let your 4 year old help pick.  Having a schedule helps keep my kids on track and keeps the meltdowns to a minimum.  The great thing is that almost every attraction can fit 3 in a row, so you won't have to miss out on anything and you can stay together.

Ask for help when you need it.  The biggest problem I ran into was getting food.  The quick service food lines are not large enough to fit a stroller in, so I would get in line on the sides.  That way, I had room to maneuver around and still stay in my spot.  Ask a Cast Member to help you find a table and for them to help carry your tray of food for you.  It's darn near impossible to do that by yourself!

Bring your own snacks and juice boxes.  Having snacks and drinks on hand that you know they will like helps with the waiting.  If you need a little break and some A/C, head to a baby care center.  You can change diapers in there while your 4 year old watches cartoons and has a snack and a drink.

Take breaks.  If you are staying in a Walt Disney World Resort, take advantage and head back to your resort for a little bit for naps or to take a swim.  It's a great way to relax and re-energize for more park play time!

    Have a magical day!
