Off board excursions

Just booked our trip for 2019 and our youngest will be 2 1/2. I didn't really see too many options for shore excursions that include her age range. Is it possible to just hang out at the beach while docked or will we have to pay?

    Ahoy, Cami!

I'm so happy to hear you've booked a Disney Cruise Line vacation for 2019! The planning process is so much fun, as you count down the days until you can book your Onboard Activities and set up a port arrival time. We have a small Disney chalkboard in our kitchen that says "Days Until Disney", and we love to watch the number get smaller and smaller as we get closer to our embarkation date!

If you're not able to find Port Adventures for all ages (including your little buccaneer), I'd suggest stopping by the Port Adventures desk once you're onboard to inquire about beaches close to the particular ports you'll be visiting. Without knowing your particular itinerary, I can't suggest specific ideas, but I've always had great luck by researching the ports beforehand and reading past trip reports!

Sometimes, my family simply chooses to stay onboard when the ship is in port, to enjoy smaller crowds at the pools. There's so much to see and do onboard, and we like having that extra time to explore all the ship has to offer.

I encourage you to check out "it's a small world" nursery!, available for a minimal fee and by reservation only. The bright, playful space is so much fun for little cruisers ages 6 months to 3 years old. The highly-trained Youth Counselors are very attentive, and keep the little ones entertained with interactive play, music, and more. There's even space for napping!

I hope this helps with your planning and preparation for your upcoming cruise. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
