Booked a trip for my Mother (63), brother (34) and I (36) for May 2019. We are staying at a Disney partner hotel to save $. I was hoping to get magic bands for us. How does this work? Do we buy tickets then bands and link? How far in advance? Thanks!

    Hi Anastasia,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

It sounds like you are on your way to planning a wonderful Walt Disney World vacation for your mother, brother, and yourself! Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel receive a MagicBand automatically. In your case, you can purchase a MagicBand online at shopDisney or you can purchase a MagicBand at merchandise locations in the theme parks or at Disney Springs. You can even customize your own cool MagicBand at a MagicBand on Demand station. Once you purchase your MagicBand, you simply link it to your My Disney Experience account. You can link your theme park tickets to your My Disney Experience account as well.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, Disney Springs Resort Area hotel, the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, or the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, you can make your FastPass+ selections 60 days before your arrival, so I'd definitely encourage you to have your tickets purchased and linked by then. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel or Gateway Hotel, you'll have a 30-day FastPass+ planning window.

Anastasia, here's wishing you a magical stay!
