Walt Disney World Halloween

Hi we booked a trip for first week of October Is this a good time to come with a 8 and 2 yr old? Any suggestions for how to make the best off the trip and still give the toddler a decent rest time and still give the 8yr old his fun?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Melissa!

October is a wonderful time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! I love how the parks and resorts are beautifully decorated for autumn. During the Fall months, the weather in Florida is very pleasant, too. I think you will enjoy visiting this time of year very much!

Like you, I have two littles with a significant age gap between them. For my family, using the rider switch is a must! This helpful service will allow you to take turns riding. While one adult is riding, the other waits with the younger or not quite tall enough little one. Once the first adult is done enjoying the attraction, the other can now ride using the FastPass+ line with little to no wait. As an added bonus for the older child, they get to enjoy they attraction twice if they choose to do so!

When it comes to taking breaks, it depends on your family and how you think your crew will do. For my family, we try to make the most of our Park days so our younger mousketeers take mini naps in the stroller while we take mid-day breaks or eat a meal. But if you feel that a mid-day break is best, by all means, schedule that in! Head back to your hotel and come back refreshed. Many of my mom friends find this a better approach for their kids! If you choose to stay at one of the wonderful hotels on site, you’ll want to enjoy the great amenities and pools there too!

Be sure to consider the fantastic Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom: Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Your family will never forget an evening of trick-or-treating fun at the happiest place on earth!

I hope you have a magical trip! Come back and see us again soon!
