Hi, I have just booked a trip arriving on the 27th Dec and leaving on the 6th of Jan. Will there be any holiday festivities or fireworks during the week between Christmas and New years. We are delighted to be able to get back again after being in May.

    Hi Amy!

A holiday Walt Disney World vacation is probably the most magical one as the parks and resorts will be in full costume with all of the festive decorations.

You will definitely be able to enjoy the holiday parades and fireworks and other entertainment that week leading up to New Years. In the Magic Kingdom the highlight for you will be the icicle castle that is probably the most magical thing I have ever seen. Pictures just don't do it justice so to experience it in person will be amazing. You will also be able to see the Holiday parade and fireworks as those will happen every day during normal park hours in the park the week between Christmas and New Years.

The Candlelight Processional is one of my favorite holiday events. This is a spectacular laser and fireworks show done nightly in Epcot but when it comes to the holidays they actually add about 12-15 minutes of extra holiday show. It is very moving and worth saving a night for that.

New Years will bring all kinds of special celebrations but they will be in the parks and not the resorts. Many guests wish to head to bed early that night and be up and going for the parks on New Years Day so resorts have to hold down the welcoming in of the new year. But there is plenty to do and see in the parks. Check our all the possibilities for New Years at Disney.

Remember that the week of your visit will be one of the more crowded weeks in the parks and resorts so be sure and get dining reservations as well as FastPasses for your trip.
