We have booked our son's first (and our second) Disney Trip for May, to celebrate his 4th birthday. His birthday is the week before, but we were wondering if there was a special way for him to feel special and showcase is birthday during our visit.

    Dear Mathieu,

Thanks for contacting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You have come to the right place!

The great news is that birthdays are one of the things that the Walt Disney World Resort celebrates best! There are so many opportunities to make your son feel special!

You can pre-order a birthday package to be delivered and set up in your resort hotel room ahead of time, and you can choose from many different awesome options! That's an amazingly magical way to kick things off.

When you enter one of the four theme parks, be sure to have your son pick up a birthday button at Guest Services and people will be wishing him "Happy Birthday!" all day (and those are free). Many people choose to have their child wear a special t-shirt or outfit that indicates that they are celebrating also.

Are you planning on making an Advanced Dining Reservation for his birthday? If so, many restaurants will do a customized cake or other type of celebratory experiences also (cakes must be pre-ordered also). These cakes can also be ordered to your resort hotel room.

You could also consider a special birthday fireworks cruise or other experience depending on his likes (maybe a pirate face painting and costume at The Pirates League at Magic Kingdom?). The options are endless!!

Have a super fun time celebrating together. The best birthday memories are just spending time with family and loved ones, no matter what you do together!
