We booked a room and my parents booked a separate room. Can we get access to each others rooms via the magic bands or key cards?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Patricia!

It definitely is possible to access your parents' guest room (and vice versa) at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel during your upcoming trip. Just ask at the front desk for a separate key card for each room. Then exchange those cards and there you go! Access granted. You'll use your MagicBands to access your own room and the key card to access the other room.

I know this is possible because I travel annually with high school seniors and a handful of chaperones. I give each chaperone a key card to my guest room because that's where the breakfast foods and water bottles are kept for the students and I want to be sure that each chaperone has access to those items. The extra key cards have worked like a charm for years on the school trip. I'm sure they'll work for you and your parents as well.

Enjoy the time spent with your parents. I'm sure it will be a magical trip.

Sending best wishes and pixie dust,
    Jill
