Hi, I just booked a MYW package for 12/31/15 to 1/3/16. As this is an impromptu visit, all reservations are booked as far as dining and dinner shows. Any thoughts to keep my 8 yr old happy? Also, we don't get in till 11pm. What is there to do after 11p

    Hi Maimunah,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! A visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is certainly a "pixie dusted" way to ring in the New Year! The Theme Parks will be quite crowded by the time you arrive, but there are plenty of ways to enjoy New Year's Eve outside of the Theme Parks as well as find Dining options during your stay.

You can view Wishes nighttime spectacular and/or the New Year's Eve fireworks show outside of Magic Kingdom Park. The beach area at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and the Marina at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, both offer a breathtaking view of the fireworks show! From Disney's Beach Club Resort area, you can view the New Year's version of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth on the bridge just before the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. To view Lights! Camera, Happy New Year! fireworks show taking place in Disney's Hollywood Studios I recommend heading to Disney's BoardWalk Inn and sitting by Luna Park Pool.

Disney Springs is open until 2:00 a.m. on New Year's Eve and there will be DJ dance parties and live entertainment in all three districts.

As far as Dining goes I suggest that you keep checking for availability on the My Disney Experience app and/or the website. Reservations become available as people cancel them, so it's best to check frequently. You can also try walking up. Sometimes a restaurant  is able to accommodate a walk up party, however, it' s a bit more difficult to do at some of the more popular restaurants. The Theme Parks have some great Quick Service dining locations. Some of my favorites are Flame Tree Barbeque in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom Park, Sunshine Seasons in Epcot, and Starring Rolls Cafe in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

    Magical Wishes,
    Susan
