Hi Moms... We just booked our kids first trip to WDW. We are going in October. I have heard about Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween. Should I purchase the tickets before hand or can I wait and purchase them there? What else can you suggest while we are there?

    Hi Lisa,

If you'd like to attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party during the last week in October, you should purchase your tickets in advance. The parties closest to the actual Halloween date are the ones that sell out fastest. However, if you're traveling earlier in the month, it might be possible to wait until you arrive.

For a full perspective on this, you may want to head over to the independent website blog.touringplans.com. Search there for an article called "Should I Take My Young Child to Mickey's Not So Scary, Very Merry Party?" The comments on that article give lots of good info too.

You don't say how old your kids are or whether they're boys or girls, so it's a bit difficult to make specific activity recommendations. However, for any children going on a first Disney trip (yay!) you'll want to be sure to book a character dining experience. You should do this as soon as possible. Reservations are available up to six months in advance. With your trip rapidly approaching, you may find that some meals are already fully booked.

Please write back with more details about your family and their interests and we'll try to point you in the right direction.
