Hi we have booked a holiday to WDW in september this year and our youngest daughter will be 5 the day after we arrive. How do i go about making her birthday extra special while we are there? any ideas on what the must do things are while we are there??

    Joann:

I can't think of a better year than this one to celebrate a birthday with Disney!

The first thing I'd do, is register your daughter's birthday here! It will save you a little time the day you check in for her birthday surprise!

Then, check out Disney's new Custom Celebrations on their website here. It's a one-stop birthday wish list! You can choose your celebration, your child's age and in a matter of seconds, Disney gives you lots of options from which to choose--anywhere from a Mickey birthday cake to an entire room celebration fit for a princess! (I received one of these on a recent visit, and I have to admit, I have my Mickey banner hanging in my office now!)

As for "things to do"...you might want to consider a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique followed by a meal at Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom or the Princess Storybook Meal at Akershus in Epcot.  If you're looking for something economical, simply viewing the fireworks from one of the beaches of the monorail resorts along with the water pageant is magical to child or just ride in the front car of the monorail itself!

Wishing you a magical birthday celebration!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
