We have booked our first trip to DW in Sept/Oct, my children are 12 & 14. We were wondering if there is anything like a kids club or teen club they can participate in while my husband and I go to dinner for his Birthday?

    Hi Deborah!

Congratulations on our upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

Many of Walt Disney World's Deluxe Resorts have Children's Activity Centers which are open to be reserved by any Guests of the parks. They are geared for ages 3-12.

What you should choose to allow your children to do while you go to dinner really does depend on your comfort level of their responsibility and where you should choose to be dining for your husband's birthday dinner.

If you wish to dine at a Downtown Disney dining location, and you're comfortable with your older child's responsibility in caring for your younger child, you may consider a fun evening at DisneyQuest. If your park tickets include the Water Parks Fun and More option, your kids' admission is already included, otherwise you can arrive there with them and pay the daily admission price, go and enjoy your dinner and set a meeting time at the DisneyQuest exit at which time you meet them after dinner.

Alternatively, if you're dining at your own resort, or nearby, you may opt to allow them to eat pool side and enjoy the resort pool for the evening, or to enjoy an evening in the privacy of their room. At your children's ages, it's really a matter of personal comfort with their responsibility.

If you are not comfortable with your kids being on their own for the time you are dining, you can consider using the recommended outside services of Kids Nite Out. Visit them at their website of the same name to peruse their services. They can provide you with care in your resort room and come highly recommended.

Wishing you a Magical time as you plan for your husband's Birthday Trip Deborah!
