Hi, booked our first Disney Cruise on the Magic for Thanksgiving week 2016!. Do you know if the photographers on board will take your pictures with personal cameras as well? Like they do in the parks?

Welcome aboard, Gayle! You'll have so much more to be thankful for this Thanksgiving when your family sets sail on the beautiful Disney Magic for an amazing cruise vacation! I'm glad you asked about cameras, because you'll want to capture all of the magical memories that you'll be making at sea with Captain Mickey and his crew!

Disney Cruise Line offers some wonderful photo packages that are available for pre-purchase on the Photography page of the website. Guests can also purchase packages onboard, as well as individual prints. These are not available once you leave the ship, which is different than PhotoPass at Walt Disney World, so please plan accordingly! Don't leave the ship without purchasing those must-keep photos!

The photographers on the ship cannot take photos with your cameras, only with their own, which is also different than the PhotoPass photographers in the Disney Parks. It's not been a problem for my family though, as they do allow guests to use their own cameras, so just grab a friend to take the photo for you. At the Character Greetings, quite often, we'll ask the guests behind us in the photo line to take one with our camera, then I'll stick around to take a picture of their family with their camera! It's a win-win! Plus, we have the beautiful official photo that the photographer takes, so between all of those, surely we'll be saving these magical memories!

Have fun as you get ready to set sail this fall, Gayle!
