we have booked a Disney cruit for our family in Oct. 2011. We are thinking of getting our grand daughter a Disney gift card for her b'day, can this be used on the ship?

    Hi, Judy!

Congratulations on your cruise aboard Disney Cruise Line this fall! I think that's a great idea to get your grand-daughter a Disney Gift Card for her birthday to be used on her Disney cruise. She can use the card to pay toward her stateroom credit. Yet, she won't be able to pay directly at the gift shops, in other areas on the ship or at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay.

If you click on the link I've provided above, you'll see that the Disney Gift Card site clearly states that you can use the cards on Disney Cruise Line. Therefore, I think it's a great idea -- she will have to pay for her items using her stateroom key (Key to the World Card) and then use the gift card at Guest Services to settle the stateroom account. I hope that helps clear things up for you.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
