Mom And Daughter Resort Room

I have booked a Disney cruise for April 2011 for my daughter's 10th bday. I have decided head to WDW three days prior to the cruise. I understand I can do that online in August but is it advantageous for me to do it as part of the cruise booking?

    Hi Jodi,

Congratulations on booking a birthday cruise for your daughter, what a perfect way to celebrate!  I have a hard time being "this close" to Walt Disney World and not spending some time there- so most of our cruises include a few days in the parks too.

Although the package rates won't be available until later this year, room-only reservations can be booked up to 499 days in advance by calling 407-934-7639.  I often suggest booking the room-only resort reservation as soon as possible, especially if your dates are not flexible or you want a specific resort, or if you are traveling during a peak season.  I don't think I have ever booked my resort through the cruise line, I prefer to keep them separate because I find it is easier to change and modify them this way.

If you do book separately, you will need to call the cruise line if you want transfers from the ship back to a resort and they will notate this on your reservation to ensure you receive the proper documentation.

    Hope this helps!
