We have booked a dinner reservation on New Years Eve at the Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness for 6:30pm. I believe that you have to take a ferry over to the island from Magic Kingdom. Will we be able to get back into a park after dinner?

    Hi Teresa,

You are correct, to get to Fort Wilderness from the Magic Kingdom, you'll want to take the ferry bound for that resort. In theory, you are able to re-enter the same park on the same day using a base ticket. However, New Years Eve is notoriously busy at the Magic Kingdom and gates can close due to crowd levels. Once they reach capacity, no more guests will be allowed to enter. Honestly, with dinner at Mickey's Backyard BBQ and factoring transportation into it, you may be risking it. Is there another night during your vacation that you could do the BBQ? That way you could just eat at the Magic Kingdom and not risk the possibility of being denied re-entry.

Hope it works out for you and have a wonderful vacation,
