We are booked for dinner at 1900 PaRk Fare at 5:20. Now I am panicked about the best way to get to the Grand Floridian. Should we pick our park for that day to be whichever is closest to Grand Floridian? How much time would you leave to get from the park?

    Hi Mary Beth!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

If you want a park with close access to the Grand Floridian, then I would pick the Magic Kingdom.  The Magic Kingdom is about 5 minutes away via the monorail.  The next closest park is Epcot and I would plan on it taking about 30 to 35 minutes to reach the Grand Floridian from the Epcot monorail station.  That's because you will have to transfer to a Magic Kingdom resort monorail at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

From Disney's Hollywood Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom, you would first have to wait for a bus to the Grand Floridian and then it's just the amount of time it takes to get to the hotel; unfortunately, the Grand Floridian sometimes shares buses with the resorts nearby.  Buses run about every 20 minuets at Walt Disney World and the farthest point from the Grand Floridian is only about 20 minutes away, but you might stop at one or two hotels first.  Thus I would plan on the trip taking about 60 minutes from Disney's Hollywood Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Once you arrive at the Grand Floridian, it is just a short walk to 1900 Park Fare.  That is a fabulous place to go to for dinner so I think you made a great choice.  Enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and please write back with more questions!
