When I booked my DCL the Magic had a pre teen and teen room the stacks. We booked the cruise after she turned 13 to be sure she could go to the stacks. Now they have renamed it vibe and changed the age to 14. Will she still be able to go??

Hi, Kimberly! Your daughter is going to have a blast onboard Disney's MagicOceanQuest is an activity center specifically designed for 11- to 13-year-olds where they can virtually steer the ship, play video games, watch TV and participate in arts and crafts. Kids can also sing karaoke, go on scavenger hunts and participate in specially-themed nights.

The teen hangout, Vibe, was created with 14- to 17-year-olds in mind and includes TVs, karaoke, video games and dance parties. The area is carefully supervised, but the counselors don't take as active of a role as in the other youth clubs. There are designated activities and areas for younger and older teens.

With as many children as I have, it seems that someone is always the age of being "on the fence." So, I understand your dilemma. My suggestion is to register your daughter for OceanQuest, and once you're aboard the ship, visit both areas to let her get a feel for the atmosphere in each. When we brought one of our children who was almost old enough to visit the youth club one step ahead of his age, he decided to revert back to the one where he "officially" belonged by his age. He felt a little uncomfortable being there with so many teens who were so much older.

You know your child best, and the counselors in each area are usually willing to work with families so that everyone is happy.  Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
