if i book a pacakage today for next april, but then a cheaper package becomes available for the same dates, can i get the cheaper package?

Hi, Amy! Thank you so much for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

How exciting to be planning your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I like to book my Magic Your Way Vacation Package as soon as they are released by putting down the initial deposit and then making payments every few weeks. It’s an easy way to pay for my magical vacation and I do this almost every time I visit, so I have actually done exactly what you are asking, and I will explain my experience!

Once, I booked and paid for everything in advance and THEN a Special Offer was released. I had to cancel my initial reservation and make a new one. I was refunded what I had paid back onto my credit card a few business days later but I have heard it can take up to a few weeks to receive the refund.

On a separate occasion, I called Walt Disney World Reservations to apply a Special Offer and the Cast Member was able to apply it directly to my current reservation. As I was not paid in full, my “amount owing” decreased and I kept on making my regular payments.

I believe the ability to apply it to a current reservation depends on A) how close to the vacation the change is made and B) if the room category, Disney Resort hotel, and package type are included and available in your Special Offer. That being said, even if you can’t apply it to your CURRENT reservation, you can make a new one. Keep in mind that conditions may apply.

I hope this answers your question and please come visit us again as we love to add a bit of Pixie Dust to your vacations!
