Animals in the Savannah at Disney's Animal Kingdom resort

At Boma in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, do you see animals while dining?

    Hi Melissa,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You are asking about one of my favorite restaurants. In fact, I had dinner just last night at Boma and I'm still thinking about the coconut chicken curry soup, the watermelon rind salad, the peanut rice, the ribs with the tamarind barbecue sauce and, of course, the zebra domes.

Though the setting in Jambo House at Animal Kingdom Lodge is gorgeous, you cannot see animals from the restaurant while you dine. There are a number of places off the lobby, however, where you can see giraffes, zebras and other animals, including the Arusha Rock Savanna Overlook.

If you want to look across the savanna while you dine, check out Sanaa at Kidani Village in Animal Kingdom Lodge. Tables there, especially those near the windows, give you a view of a number of animals. Though it isn't an all-you-care-to-eat buffet like Boma, Sanaa is incredibly delicious. The bread service with nine accompaniments may be my favorite dish in all of Walt Disney World. I'm also a big fan of the salad sampler, the lamb shank and the Boerewors Braai (South African sausage with onion jam).

Thanks for stopping by with your question, Melissa. Please let us know if you'd like more details or recommendations about Disney dining. We're always eager to help. Enjoy!
