How big is the Grand Floridian Resort? I still have no idea what room type I want but first I need to decide on either a main building room or an outer building room. How far are the outter buildings away from the main building with the monorail?

    Hi Guylaine!

All of the resorts at Walt Disney World are very large, except for Port Orleans French Quarter, and perhaps the Contemporary Resort.  The Grand Floridian is a large resort, which means some of the outer buildings are between 5 and 10 minutes away from the main building, depending on how fast you walk; an adult with no children can really get to the main building in about 5 minutes.  The monorail station is located outside the main building on the parking lot side and not on the resort side.

All of that said, the Grand Floridian is a wonderful resort and does not really feel spread out like some of the Disney Moderate Resorts.  It is a guest favorite and it is the flagship resort of Walt Disney World.

Good luck with your decision, and please write back with more questions!
