My bf has bad Scoliosis. Its his first trip to WDW. He knows it will be very hard to stand in lines or walk for long periods of time. His doc is willing to write a note about his condition for us to bring. Is he eligible for DAS? Will it meet his needs?

    Hi Caroline,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How lovely to plan a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort with your best friend!

Given your description, it does sound as if the Disability Access Service would be appropriate for your friend. To register, you all will need to visit Guest Relations as soon as you enter your first theme park. Explain that you would like to request the Disability Access Service. A cast member onsite will work with you to determine if the service is best for his needs. When we have used this service in the past for my husband, the girls and I have been allowed to ride with him.

Once registered, to use the service, you will need to approach a cast member at the entrance to a ride or attraction, explain that you have the Disability Access Service and request a return time for the ride. Although either of you can request the return time, your friend will need to scan in first for the attraction when you return to ride. You can use the Disability Access Service in addition to Fast Pass+, so make your Fast Pass+ selections prior to arrival.

Caroline, if you have more specific questions, call and speak to a cast member in Disability Services at 407-560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
