Is it better to rent a car with a 1 year old to get in and out of the parks quicker than waiting for the bus? If you are staying on site do you have to pay to park at the hotel or at the parks?

I found it much easier to have our own vehicle when our son was younger. Returning to our quiet van was much calmer for him than entering a noisy bus. Although we took noise levels in to special consideration as our son had some sensory issues due to being premature.

We have found our car to be quicker from many of the hotels when going to Animal Kingdom, Epcot or Hollywood Studios. Arriving Magic Kingdom is faster by bus and waiting to depart to the parking lot via ferry or monorail can often be time-consuming.

I know many families that prefer the buses and many that would choose their own vehicle or rental car.
Consider if you will have your own stroller or if you are renting one as loading strollers on parking lot trams (and buses) is often a struggle.

Parking is complimentary to resort guests.
