What is better for children (age 5, for example) - a mouse ear headband or an ear hat (domed hat with the ears)?

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for sending us your great question.  Mickey Ears are an accessory that my daughter has worn since her first visit to Walt Disney World Resort when she was tiny.  We seem to bring a new pair or two home every time we visit!

Deciding which type of Mickey Ears would be best for your child is a personal decision.  My daughter always gravitated toward the headband type of ears, as the elastic under her chin bothered her and she could never wear them for extended periods of time.  On the other hand, when I wear the headband style Mickey Ears, I find that after a while the headband hurts my head.  Granted, I am an adult, and am significantly bigger than my daughter, who has not complained about the headband hurting her head.

I would recommend trying on several pairs of ears and let your child decide which pair is most comfortable.  If they have a say in what ears they purchase, they will be more apt to wearing them, because they had input in the decision.  The longer the ears stay in place translates to the less amount of time you will be carrying the ears throughout the Theme Parks!

There are plenty of retail locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort where you can purchase Mickey Ears.  My favourite spots are The Chapeau in Magic Kingdom Park and Mouse Gear in Epcot.

I hope you have a magical time at Walt Disney World Resort, Jennifer and that you find the perfect pair of Mickey Ears!  Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help!
