When is best to travel: easter/spring break fortnight, last week august for a fortnight or last week may fortnight? Weather, crowds, prices etc. Kids will be 8ds 6dd and 2/3ds depend on time of year. what about keeping everyone happy, rides attractions

Hi Nicola! Let me first address time of year for a Disney visit!  There are often specials announced by Disney but it is hard to know ahead of time what the best will be for your budget next year. In the past the end of summer and September have offered good savings.

The summer months are quite hot with the rainy season starting mid May and going through mid September. If you don't mind a few possible showers and you can handle the more humid weather then you will find the last week of August to be the least crowded generally from the options you gave.  The last week of May would likely be the next least crowded. Spring break is a busy time and Easter is VERY crowded from the week before and through the week after.

Many families worry about how to keep all of their children happy in the parks doing what they enjoy. But it really isn't hard as most of the attractions can appeal to all ages from youngsters to adults. There are a few thrill type rides in all four parks where you will find height restrictions. If some of the children are able to go on these you can use the rider swap option where one parent will wait with the younger child while the other rides. Then you simply swap so you are not waiting in line twice. Ask the cast member to assist you if you choose to do this.

It is fun to sit down with the kids ahead of time and go through all the attractions in the parks. You can do one park a night and let each child choose their top three that they don't want to miss. Some may be the same but you will have a good start on a plan for a day in the parks. The kids love this and feel like they really have a say in the vacation planning. You can find the description of the attractions at the Disney website, www.disneyworld.com. Let us know if you have specific questions as you plan!
