What's the best time of the year to visit.

The best time of year to visit Walt Disney World will depend on your definition of “best”.

    For low crowds:

Mid-late January, early February, early May, September, October, November and early December are recommended. These are the times of year that we have visited or that I’ve heard many times from guests as being less crowded. Our family likes late January, early November and early December for low crowds.

Special events (here's just a few!):
Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival (March, April and May)
    Star Wars Weekends (June)
Halloween parties and Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival (September, October and November)
Christmas decorations and Christmas parties (November and December)

Some guests wouldn’t think about traveling at any time other than during their favorite event. I will definitely return some time in the future for November's ABC Super Soap Weekend event. As a General Hospital fan, I was able to have my picture taken with Tristan Rogers and other stars.

Other visitors consider the weather their most important factor. For those seeking time by the pool as their top priority, a visit during the winter months would not be their first choice. We have worn jackets all day during some vacations in January. Although usually visitors from the North, like us, find some days warm enough for shorts. I find it funny that while we are swimming the lifeguards are bundled up in jackets.

Many travelers have to visit during school breaks. The popular summer months can also be very hot, humid and rainy. We are traveling to WDW this June and while I’m a bit worried about the crowds and heat, I’m excited to take my family to the Star Wars Weekends as well as enjoy the pool and water parks.

If you wish to avoid crowds, then steer clear of any time when schools are out for long weekend breaks, Spring Break, Summer vacation, and other holidays.  Good luck planning!
