What is the best time of year to go to Walt Disney World? Where there is usually less wait for rides?

    Hello Heather,

Thank you for coming to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. It sounds like you are getting started on planning a magical trip to Walt Disney World. So, you have come to the right place.

While it is difficult to predict exactly when the least crowded times will be, I would recommend a couple of times when crowds have historically been lighter. The third and fourth week of January tend to have low crowds since many have just completed their holiday travel and spring breaks have yet to begin. The Walt Disney World Marathon marathon is usually one of the first weeks of January and the Princess Half Marathon weekend typically happens sometime in late February. These runDisney events can elevate the crowds and so you will want to keep that in mind. The weather is also quite mild in the beginning of the year. Highs on average are in the low 70s and lows are in the lower 50s.

Another possible time for lower crowds is the first couple of weeks after Labor Day. Most schools are in session and fall breaks have not begun. This time of year will bring warmer and rainier weather than the winter, but temps are slightly better than in the summer.

I hope this helps you decide on a great time to visit. Feel free to stop back by with more questions as your planning continues. We would love to offer our tips and suggestions for other topics, as well.
