When is the best time to travel with special needs children? I have a son with Autism and one with ADHD and we want to go when lines are lower. Plus when are the best days to book a vacation?

    Hi  Melissa,

I'm happy to hEAR you are planning your next adventure to the Disneyland Resort. You're going to have a magical time and create memories that'll last a lifetime.

We utilize the Disability Access Service (DAS) Card for our son who has special needs while at the Disney Parks. We appreciate there isn't pressure to return to an attraction at a certain time.

With the Disability Access Service Card, you will go to one of the multiple guest relations kiosks throughout the park and inform the cast member about which attraction you would like to visit. They will fill out your DAS card with the name of the attraction and a return time. ANY time after the assigned return time, you can see a Cast Member at the entrance of the requested attraction to enter through the FastPass (FP) or alternate entrance as directed. The DAS card is not the same as an FP in that there is not a window return time, so there is no pressure to make it back within a certain period. You can only access one DAS card return time for one attraction at a time. While waiting for your DAS return time, you are welcome to grab a magical snack, enjoy a show, or watch a parade.

The parks are always popular. When deciding when to visit the Disneyland Resort, I like to Google "Month desired 2014 Disneyland Crowd Calendar" it should be one of the first links to come up. There are many factors that come into play with crowd levels but Mid-September through mid-November (except during Halloween time at the Disneyland Resort) tends to be a little slower. Also try to visit during the middle of the week - Tuesday to Thursday. There is no set day when a special may be posted. It's always a Fantasmic time to book your next Disney vacation!

I hope this helps and that you have a pixie-dusted visit. If you have any more questions, please visit me here and let me know how I can help you plan your magical vacation.

    Wishing you magic!
