What is the best way to get from Shades of Green to Disney's Boardwalk? We've never been there. Is it worth it? We go to Downtown Disney a couple times every trip but have never gone to Boardwalk. Thank you very much!

There are a couple of ways to get from Shades of Green to the Boardwalk area. Perhaps the easiest would be for you to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then transfer to a bus to the Boardwalk resort, which would put you right there. Alternatively, if you were planning to spend the day at Epcot, you could just pop out of the International Gateway exit (located between France and England) and you'd be at the Boardwalk with about a five minute walk.

The Boardwalk area is cute, I end up there on most of my trips to WDW, but mostly because we often stay at the Epcot area resorts. But I'm not sure I would make a trip just to tour there unless I had something planned to do there, such as a meal reservation. Downtown Disney is huge, a real destination all it's own. The Boardwalk is much smaller. It has only about half a dozen shops, most of which carry merchandise that you could find almost anywhere else at WDW. There are, however, several good restaurants at the Boardwalk that are worth a trip, notably Spoodles and the yummy Flying Fish. Also, the ESPN Zone restaurant is a very spirited place to watch any big games that might be going on during your trip. Additionally, there are two clubs that get going later in the evening: Jellyrolls and the Atlantic Dance Hall. During the early evenings in nice weather there will be a few street performers doing magic or a bit of improv. And there are a very few carnival type games available (try to get the ball in the basket, etc.) for an fee.

To me, the best part of the Boardwalk is the walk around the resorts there. This area has some of the most beautiful themeing in all of WDW. I really feel transported to a seaside community when I visit there.
