    Laura from LA Asked

What are the best restaurants for boys BESIDES character dining. Age range of boys in our group 2 yrs, 3 yrs, 6 yrs, 8 yrs & 11 yrs old.

    Hi Laura,

Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel and asking your question. We are so excited to help you with your vacation planning!

When making plans for our magical Walt Disney World vacations, parents do love to book Character Dining  to ensure that our princes and princesses have memorable experiences, even during dinner. Our son was 8 years old during our last vacation, so we made sure to make Advanced Dining Reservations for a few cool restaurants that we knew he would love, even without characters.

Our whole family loved our time at O'Hana within Disney's Polynesian Resort Hotel. We had an amazing meal. Your server also comes to your table periodically to ask if you'd like more of the delicacies that are offered, including oak fired shrimp, beef, turkey and pork. With 5 growing boys, you'll appreciate that they can fill up those hearty appetites in one sitting. Our son, and our 3 year old daughter, love the sweeping of the coconuts during our dinner. All of the kids are encouraged to get up from their tables, grab a broom and race to sweep their coconut around the restaurant. It's just about the cutest thing you'll ever see! This gave the kids a great activity that they would talk about for months, if not years.

50's Prime Time Cafe is another restaurant that doesn't offer Character Dining, but does not lack on character. You feel like family as soon as you enter, and each server treats you like you share the same last name. They even make you eat your vegetables! Have the boys try the peanut butter and jelly milkshake and the fried chicken. They'll love it.

I hope this answered your question, Laura. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask at any time.

    Have a fantastical Disney Day!
