What is the best resort for a 3 year old and a 1 year old. Only intend to go to a park 2 of the 4 days, so we want one with a great pool and or beach area. Also, if you are staying on property, can you use the other property's pools or activites?

    Hi Jill!

There are so many wonderful Disney resorts, its hard to pick just a few!

In the value resort category, my recommendation is Pop Century. All of the Disney resorts are great, but we enjoy Pop Century's theme and layout. It also does not share buses with other value resorts as the All Star resorts sometimes do.  The pools at Pop Century are fun too.The main pool is even shaped like a flower!

If you're thinking of a moderate resort, my favorite resort in this category is Port Orleans French Quarter. Our family really prefers the smaller size of this resort. After a long park day, its nice to know that everything you need is just a short walk away at your resort.

A couple of other bonuses for Port Orleans French Quarter are the boat transportation over to Downtown Disney (great for meals, shopping, or DisneyQuest) and the ability to use the pool and amenities at Port Orleans Riverside. Having this option could be fun since you're planning a day or two of downtime. Port Orleans French Quarter recently went through a refurbishment.

One great addition to the resort are the queen-size beds that are new at the resort. This is a great if you're having to share beds with any kids! Plus, don't forget to sample some of the beignets at Port Orleans French Quarter!

And, last, the Wilderness Lodge is my favorite of all of the Disney Resorts. The Pacific Northwest theme, complete with totem poles and multi-story fireplace is magnificent. It feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of the parks. Its location is top-notch too - it is just a short boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom.

In general, Disney resort guests cannot use another resort's pool. An exception to this are the Port Orleans sister resorts. As for activities, those are open to other guests. Be sure to pick up a calendar of events at each resort and decide what you'd like to try out!

    Hope this helps!
