What is the best resort for a family of 6, 2 adults and a 12, 5 and 10 month old twins? Is a monorail hotel worth the extra money(and maybe being cramped) for the convenience of bringing on a stroller w/two sleeping infants or is AoA the way to go?

    Hi Stephanie!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm happy to help!

Since your twins are under the age of three, they won't count towards the total number of people in your room. So really you could stay in a room that sleeps four people. The Deluxe Resorts on the monorail have rooms that sleep five people, so I think you would have plenty of room to spread out, even with a Pack 'n Play or two! While I love Disney's Art of Animation Resort, I personally believe that the convenience of the monorail when using a double stroller is worth the extra cost. You can take the monorail to Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot without having to disturb the little ones and fold the stroller. I also find that the cost difference isn't always that much between Art of Animation and the Deluxe Resorts, and the real benefit for choosing Art of Animation is when you have six people (over the age of three) in your party.

Since Magic Kingdom is where families with little ones spend the majority of their time, another benefit of the monorail resorts is being able to go back to your room quickly and easily. When my children were younger, we usually took an afternoon break for a nap or a swim in the pool. If you wanted to take the twins back to the room by yourself, it would be much more manageable on the monorail than on the bus.

My best advice would be to look for discounts like the current special offer and pick the least expensive resort on the monorail to help keep the cost difference at a minimum. They are all fabulous and you can't go wrong with any of them!

I hope this helps and if you have any other questions, just let us know. Happy planning!
