What is the best way to plan a vacation for 8 (3 adults and 5 kids ages 17,16,15,9,9)

    Hi Gina,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your family reminds me so much of my own (including 5 kiddos with teenagers down to two nine-year-olds!), and I'd be more than happy to help you plan a magical vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort!

First, you'll want to find a place to stay during your visit. With 8 of you, I'd recommend either booking two standard rooms at whatever Disney Resort hotel will make your Disney dreams come true and placing a room request for connecting rooms or staying at a 2-bedroom Deluxe Villa where you'll find a living room, full kitchen, laundry room, and patio or balcony. While room requests cannot be guaranteed, priority is always given to one family unit traveling with their Mouseketeers, and I'm sure Disney will do all they can to make sure you guys are together. You are certainly free to book your trip online, but please don't be afraid to call an expert for help!

Once you've found the perfect room(s) for your crew, you'll want to think about adding theme park tickets. How many days would you like to visit the theme parks? You'll find that the price per day goes down pretty substantially the longer you stay. With a large party, you'll want to keep your eye on the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page, too, for any special offers that become available as that will help stretch your Disney dollars! You'll also want to be sure to plan any dining reservations beginning 180 days before your arrival. I know that seems early, but some restaurants are quite popular and fill up very early!

As you get closer to your visit, you'll want to make your FastPass+ selections. With this complimentary service, each of you can choose three attractions or experiences per day 30-60 days ahead of time to skip the standby line. You don't need to keep your entire party together for each of these, and in fact, this is a great way to allow any thrill-seekers to enjoy heart-pumping attractions while other members of your party choose something more tame. By using the FastPass+ service, it won't be long until you're back together again, enjoying an experience the whole family will love to do together.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Gina, and please feel free to bring us more questions as you're thinking through the details of your trip. We'd be happy to help you choose Disney Resort hotels, restaurants, FastPass+ selections, or even help you think through how to plan your itinerary. I'm so excited for your family to make memories together that you'll all cherish for years to come, and I hope that you all have a truly magical vacation!
