What would be the best plan for a day trip with preschoolers? Which park or parks would be the best for them?

Hello Ashley, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I have a 5-year-old son and he's been going with me to Walt Disney World since he was a toddler. We have always found lots of things to do at each park, however Disney's Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and The Magic Kingdom are his favorites. Which park is the best for preschoolers? Well that really depends on their interests. Do they love animals and street performances? I'd suggest going to Animal Kingdom. Do they love Pixar movies and Star Wars? Hollywood Studios is your place! The Magic Kingdom, in my humble opinion, is the best park for children because most of the attractions are suitable for everyone to enjoy together. Plus, it's the home of the most iconic Disney symbol, Cinderella's Castle! We find that during our vacations we can never get enough of The Magic Kingdom.

There is a great page for Disney with preschoolers that has information on attractions, dining, baby care centers, and even a sample itinerary. The Preschool Parent's Guide to Walt Disney World Resort is also on that page, and definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.

As for some quick tips, I strongly suggest bringing along a stroller. They are great for shady mid-day naps or for when they clock out at the end of the night. I made the mistake of renting one at the parks when my son was 2. The strollers are only good for use in the parks, so after a long day of walking around I found myself carrying a sleeping boy for a quite a time waiting on transportation back to our resort. It was exhausting. Another tip is to bring a bag with a change of clothes and a towel. There are fun splash areas in the parks and it is a great way to cool off on a hot day.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to stop by.

Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation!
