where is the best place for fireworks for kids 9 years old

    Hi Greg,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can imagine the excitement in your household as you plan a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

Our favorite fireworks show is the Happily Ever After show in Magic Kingdom. The storytelling and music are AMAZING. Since one of my girls is petite, we always stake out a spot near the front of Cinderella Castle so that she can see without having taller people in front of her. About an hour and a half before the show, I start waiting just at the edge of one of the pathways leading up through Cinderella Castle. We always view from the edge of the pathway front left (facing Cinderella Castle). About an hour or so before the show, a cast member will come out and rope off the pathway. That cast member will stand there to make sure nobody uses that pathway or stands across the taped off area. I always take a seat right behind the taped off line with Cinderella Castle just in front.

While I wait, the girls go do a Fast Pass+ at an attraction nearby. I always make this Fast Pass+ immediately after we have used our initial three Fast Pass+ selections earlier in the day. I select a time that will allow them to get back to the fireworks viewing spot at least 30 minutes prior to the show. As it gets closer to show time, cast members block off certain routes and the crowds intensify making it harder to get back to the viewing location where I am located. Also pack your patience as you exit after the show!

Greg, as you make your plans, do consider other nighttime shows. At Epcot, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is scheduled to run until the end of summer 2019. Other popular shows are Rivers of Light at Disney's Animal Kingdom as well as Fantasmic! and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
