What is the best pen to bring to the parks for the characters to sign autograph books? I'm making my sons autograph books. Should I bring a regular Sharpie? A big fat one? Something else? I <3 you guys SO much! Your help has been superb!

    Hi Erin,

Mickey and his friends would be so pleased to hear that you are trying to find a pen that works well for them as they sign your sons' autograph books.  You are very thoughtful, indeed!

I would not bring a Sharpie for fear that the ink might bleed through the autograph book page.  I suggest a thick barrel, retractable pen.  The characters have big fingers in many cases so pens with a larger diameter are easier to control.  They would also find it easier if they didn't have to pull a cap off the pen.  Find a pen with thick colorful ink as autographs written in this kind of ink will be more attractive on the page.  You may even want to have a variety of pens of different colors on hand.

Be sure to have the autograph book open to the page where you want each character to sign.  Skip a page between characters so that you can later insert the photos you will take of that character with your sons. We've done this for my son on several of his trips and he loves to look back on his autograph books to relive those precious memories.

Wishing you and your sons many magical encounters with the Disney characters!

PS.  Thank you for your kind words about the Disney Moms Panel.  We love you too!
