Best option for party of 6 (kids 8 & 4) in 1 room/suite? Our options (from $$$ to $) are (1) SSR; (2) off property w/shuttle to WDW; (3) off property with no shuttle. Option 3 is FREE & we will have car. 1st trip for kids. Want good WDW experience.

    Hi Ann,

Wow what choice you will have! I will quickly rule out option 2 unless you want to drive to and from the park with your car. You will have to pay daily for parking. Since option 3 is free, you have to simply pay for parking.

What you must factor into your equation is do you want to go back to the resort during the day? If so, you will be spending extra time driving to and from the resort. Saratoga Springs Resort (SSR) is one of the furtherest Disney properties, however, if everyone did not want to go back to the resort for a break, each party could easily get home.

Another factor is Extra Magic Hours. While I personally do not attend these events, it is nice to have that flexibility especially during the peak touring season. You could cover extra ground without the crowds.

Another factor is dining. You might be able to have free dining or even purchasing a dining plan for your family which could save you money. For the children, it really is an economical way to save money on your vacation.

You can also look at a family suite at All Star Music or the Art of Animation. This offers a kitchenette and two full bathrooms for families to use during their stay.

Whenever I have stayed off property, I found my time alone was worth it to be in the parks versus outside and driving in.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
